Guwahati, October 31: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari stressed the important role of cutting-edge technology in all sectors for the rapid progress of the country. He highlighted the important contribution of students in achieving this objective.
Addressing the audience at a special convocation ceremony of Assam Down Town University, Gadkari stressed the importance of goal-oriented research and comprehensive market analysis before launching any project.
Gadkari, who received Honorary D.Litt. Was awarded. degree for his dedicated work in the development of infrastructure in the North-Eastern region, expressed, “The Prime Minister envisions a ‘self-reliant India’ and a GDP of five trillion dollars. Achieving these goals can only be achieved through the use of cutting-edge technology. possible, where students can play an important role in transforming the nation into a significant economic power.”
The Minister stressed the need to give priority to established technology considering economic feasibility, availability of raw materials, and market potential for the final product before going into research.
Furthermore, he underlined the importance of result-oriented research and highlighted the equal importance of financial audits as well as performance audit.
Encouraging the students, Gadkari urged them to focus on adopting innovative approaches to contribute to the nation nation-building.
Outside the convocation, the minister visited the city’s Kamakhya temple and offered prayers to the revered goddess Kamakhya situated atop the Neelachal hill.
