Sep 2: Speeding up investigation is essential to solve the problem of violence-related cases in Manipur at the earliest. For this, 42 Special Investigation Teams (SIT) will be formed. Former Mumbai police chief Dattatreya Padsalgikar met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike to apprise her about the current situation in Manipur.
Dattatreya Padsalgikar has been appointed as “a highly decorated officer” by a Supreme Court (SC) bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, to restore a sense of faith in the rule of law in ethnic violence-hit Manipur. So that the investigation could be monitored as a whole.
It is being told that Padsalgikar apprised Governor Uikey about the current situation in Manipur so that the matter can be investigated expeditiously and the affected people get justice as well as their pathetic condition can be improved and said that For this, first of all, 42 Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed. So that the investigation of this matter can be completed at the earliest.
Padsalgikar says that the cases in hilly and valley areas will be investigated through video conferencing. Video conferencing facilities will be provided by BSNL and NIC. Governor from all these things

Regarding the investigation report, Padsalgikar said that the first status report of the investigation will be submitted to the concerned officer by the first week of October. At the same time, he requested Governor Anusuiya Uikey to provide all possible help to the people affected by the violence.
Responding to this, Governor Anusuiya Uike said that works have already been started by the state and the Center to help the people affected by the violence. Instructions have been given to the violence-affected people to settle at their places and provide necessary assistance.
