Shahjahanpur, Dec 16 (UiTV/IANS) – Former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand has been declared an absconder by a Court in Shahjahanpur.
Chinmayanand was to appear in the ACJM court in connection with a case of misconduct lodged by his former disciple in 2011 but he did not turn up.
The court has now declared him an absconder under section 82.
It may be recalled that the trial of the case has been going on since 2011 and Chinmayanand has not appeared in court since then.
The court notice will now be pasted at all police station and at his Mumukshu Ashram after which the police will initiate proceedings to attach his properties.
In 2017, the Yogi Adityanath government had made an attempt to withdraw the case but the court refused to allow the same after the objection was filed by the complainant,
The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the matter.
Noida police arrests man from Kanpur for duping people on pretext of providing shops, office space

Noida police arrested a man from Kanpur for allegedly duping people on the pretext of providing them offices, virtual space and shops.
The arrested accused, identified as Mayank Agarwal, along with his accomplices cheated buyers of crores. The police are also looking for his other accomplices.
Mayank, during the interrogation, revealed that in 2014, he along with Satendra Singh Tomar, Atul Vikram Singh, Sandeep Kaushik, Sanjay Jain, Saurabh Kumar Pandey, Avninder, Shashikant Chaurasia and Vinita Chaurasia of Proplarity Group of Companies and HSL Software Pvt Ltd, duped people on the pretext of providing offices, virtual space and shops.
According to the police, they took deposits in crores from buyers in lieu of the space. However, due to a dispute over distribution of the amount received from the buyers, the construction work was stopped.
Between 2014-2015, his accomplices took about Rs 49 lakh from Pushpa Mishra and her son Rishi Prasad Mishra by luring them with a buy back scheme.
Mayank returned from Noida to Kanpur after the buyers filed a complaint. Accused Satendra Tomar has also fled somewhere while Sanjay Jain moved to Gurugram after selling his property in Delhi, which is being investigated.
Alcoholic man kills child, gets lynched by villgers
A one-and-a-half-year-old child was hacked to death in Saujhana Jhaya village of this district by an alcoholic.
The accused, identified as Kaju, alais Kishanpal, took the child, who was playing outside his house, to a cane field and hacked him to death.
When the family members of the minor started looking for him, they found his body in the field and spotted the accused at some distance.
The accused also attacked the villagers with a knife when they tried to stop him.
Superintendent of police (SP) city, Bulandshahr, Surendra Nath Tiwari said that the villagers thrashed Kishanpal after which police reached the spot and admitted him to district hospital.
“Based on the complaint filed by the child’s family members, a case has been registered under section 302 (murder) against the accused. However, he succumbed during treatment on Thursday,” said SP.
The minor’s body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem, police said.
Body of the accused has been sent for the post-mortem and his family informed, the SP said.
