The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has received an anonymous email containing threats to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and target the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The email senders have also demanded a sum of Rs 500 crore and the release of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
As reported by the Indian Express, the NIA has promptly notified the Mumbai Police, Gujarat Police, and other agencies responsible for the Prime Minister’s security. Following this alert, heightened security measures have been put in place in the city, especially since Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium is scheduled to host five matches during the ongoing Cricket World Cup.
According to reports, Mumbai law enforcement was informed of the threat on Thursday morning by the NIA.

The threat email stated, “Tumhari sarkar se hume 500 crore aur Lawrence bishnoi chahiye nahi to kal hum Narendra Modi ke sath narendra Modi stadium bhi uda denge. Hindustan me sabkuch bikta hai to humne bhi kuch kharid liya hai kitna bhi sequre karlo humse nahi bacha paoge agar baat karni hai to is mail par hi bat karna (We will blow up Narendra Modi and the Narendra Modi stadium if your government does not give us Rs 500 crore and Lawrence Bishnoi. Everything sells in Hindustan, so we too have also bought something. No matter how much you secure, you won’t be able to save them from us. If you wish to talk, do so on this email).”

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi?
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has been incarcerated since 2014, is linked to numerous criminal cases. Recent cases involving him include his alleged involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Sindhu Moosewala and issuing threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Notably, Bishnoi and Goldy Brar recently took credit for the killing of Khalistani terrorist and gangster Sukhdool Singh in Winnipeg, Canada.
In a Facebook post, Bishnoi asserted that Sukhdool Singh was a “drug addict” who had ruined the lives of many individuals and received what Bishnoi described as “punishment for his sins.” He additionally claimed that Sukhdool, a member of the Davinder Bambiha gang, was responsible for the murder of Sandeep Nangal Ambiya.
