Lucknow, October 25: The Yogi government is working on the development of Lalitpur Bulk Drug Park and has allocated a budget of Rs 1,000 crore for the project. Its objective is to attract investment of Rs 1 lakh crore.
An official spokesperson elaborated that the drug park will host 60-70 production units focused on manufacturing 452 drugs and 23 starting materials. The allocated budget covers various aspects, including Rs 460.6 crore for infrastructure development, Rs 20 crore for zero liquid discharge system, Rs 144.2 crore for land acquisition and Rs 10 crore for administrative, consultancy and program management expenses. To support this project, the government has reserved a significant land fund that will provide 94 plots of various sizes ranging from five to 50 acres. Of the total area designated for the Pharma Park, 53% will be allotted for industrial setup, with the remaining portion allotted for other facilities.

The projected facilities include a 50-acre dry port, a common facility area spread over 70 acres for processes like CETP/STP and other utilities, 100 acres for logistics and warehousing, 60 acres for institutional, testing and research and development spaces, 270 Acres included. for road and transport infrastructure, and 250 acres for green spaces and water resources. Additionally, the park will allocate 60 acres for residential purposes and 40 acres for commercial activities.
This initiative is expected to directly generate more than 1.5 lakh employment opportunities. Additionally, it is estimated that ancillary industries related to the pharmaceutical sector will also be set up within the Bulk Drug Park, thereby indirectly creating employment opportunities for approximately 3 lakh persons.
Officials have revealed that the government is giving 12 types of relaxations to entrepreneurs in the pharmaceutical sector to attract investment. Furthermore, steps have been taken to create a conducive ecosystem to promote the development and growth of pharma parks.
