Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP and former cricketer Yusuf Pathan has withdrawn from the Centre’s all-party delegation formed to promote India’s stance on terrorism following Operation Sindoor. The TMC criticized the central government for nominating Pathan without consulting the party.
TMC leaders, including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, emphasized that while the party supports national security initiatives, the selection of its representatives should be its prerogative. They expressed discontent over the lack of communication from the Centre regarding the delegation’s composition.
The delegation, part of the “One Mission, One Message, One Bharat” initiative, aims to visit multiple countries to highlight India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. Despite withdrawing from the delegation, the TMC reiterated its commitment to supporting the nation’s anti-terrorism efforts.
