New Delhi, September 23: Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has canceled his visit to China after China insulted Indian players. The 19th Asian Games is being organized in Hangzhou, China, in which India’s Sports Minister Anurag Thakur was visiting China to participate. But in view of China not allowing players from Arunachal Pradesh to enter the Asian Games, Anurag Thakur has canceled his trip to China.
This action by China is an insult to every Indian. This has once again created tension between the relations between India and China. After China did not allow the players of Arunachal Pradesh to enter the Asian Games, the Government of India has given a befitting reply to China by canceling the visit program of Anurag Thakur to China.
Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, said, “At the Asian Games, Chinese authorities have barred some Indian athletes from the state of Arunachal Pradesh from entering and have not granted them recognition to participate in their respective sports. Those players of our country are being discriminated against. When the Government of India came to know about this, Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur canceled his trip to China.
The Indian government has opposed this behavior of China and said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of our country India. It is a part of our country and will always be a part of our country. The behavior that China has shown to the players of Arunachal Pradesh will not be tolerated. Such behavior will not be tolerated in any state of the country.
Three Wushu players from Arunachal Pradesh could not go to Hangzhou, China for the Asian Games due to lack of clearance from Chinese authorities.
This action of China was also condemned by Earth Sciences Minister and Arunachal Pradesh MP Kiren Rijiju. Sharing a post on social media platform This violates the spirit of the game. “It is also a violation of the rules governing the conduct of the Asian Games.”
