The highly anticipated World Cup final is poised to take place tomorrow at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, setting the stage for an intense clash between India and Australia. Cricket enthusiasts nationwide are eagerly anticipating the historic event, contributing to an electric atmosphere. With over 1 lakh spectators expected to fill the stadium, the excitement is palpable.
In the midst of the cricket fervor, the Ahmedabad police have joined in on the excitement, as evident from their engaging social media post. Leveraging social media platforms, the police are using their influence to raise awareness and discourage the public from engaging in the purchase of black-market tickets for the final match. They are actively encouraging people to firmly reject any involvement in such illicit ticketing practices.
The official tweet from the Ahmedabad Police reads, “Let’s unite in support of India, expressing our enthusiasm with the shoutout, ‘Time to bleed blue!’. Together, let’s firmly reject any involvement in black ticketing practices.”
The allure of witnessing this high-stakes cricket match has led to a surge in demand for tickets, prompting authorities to take proactive measures against black marketing, exorbitant reselling, and the circulation of counterfeit tickets.
In response to the issue of ticket black marketing, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik assured that the city police are actively working to prevent such activities. He emphasized that if any black-market ticketing occurs during the match, appropriate action will be taken against those involved.
“As soon as the police receive information on this, they conduct an investigation… They are working proactively on this. Until now, we have not encountered any duplicate tickets. If such an issue arises during the match, the police will investigate in accordance with the law,” stated Police Commissioner Malik.
