Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has made a surprising move from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), as per reliable sources. Despite being included in Gujarat Titans’ retention list submitted on the retention deadline of November 26, Pandya’s shift to Mumbai Indians was finalized through an all-cash deal within the trading window, which remains open until December 12.
Pandya, who captained Gujarat Titans in 2022, led them to victory in their debut season and guided them to the IPL 2023 final, where they were defeated by the Chennai Super Kings.
The IPL 2024 mini-auction is scheduled for December 19 in Dubai.
Mumbai Indians’ retained players include Rohit Sharma (Captain), Dewald Brevis, SKY, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Vishnu Vinod, Arjun Tendulkar, Cam Green, Shams Mulani, Nehal Wadhera, Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar Kartikeya, Piyush Chawla, Akash Madhwal, Jason Behrendorff, and Romario Shepherd (via trade). Players released by Mumbai Indians include Arshad Khan, Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, Raghav Goyal, Jofra Archer, Tristan Stubbs, Duan Jansen, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Chris Jordan, and Sandeep Warrier.
