Indore, Sep 25: In a high-scoring and rain-affected encounter, India registered a stunning 99-run win over Australia via the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method at the Holkar Stadium, taking the lead 2-0 in the process. Took an unassailable lead in the series.
India set a strong target of 400 runs for Australia based on a brilliant partnership of 200 runs after brilliant centuries by

Gill (104) and Shreyas Iyer (105). Captain KL Rahul (52) and Suryakumar Yadav (72 not out) also contributed explosive half-centuries to take India to a mammoth score of 399/5, their highest-ever ODI score against Australia.
Australia’s chase was started with Prasidh Krishna making an immediate impact by taking back-to-back wickets of Matthew Short and Steven Smith in consecutive balls. However, rain interrupted the match with Australia at 56/2 after nine overs. After a delay due to rain, the target was revised to 317 runs in 33 overs and the pitch became more supportive of the spinners.
