Hardik Pandya was traded by Mumbai before IPL 2024. Earlier, Pandya was playing for Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya was associated with the Gujarat Titans for 2 seasons. Which Gujarat Titans also became champion in the very first season under the captaincy of Pandya. Now as soon as Hardik Pandya returned to his old team Mumbai Indians (MI), he was given a big and important responsibility of the team.

Mumbai Indians (MI) has given the information about making Hardik Pandya the captain on its official website. In a statement, Mumbai wrote, “Today Mumbai Indians is announcing the change in captaincy. Mumbai Indians (MI) will be captained by all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the next season of IPL. Mumbai Indians (MI) was captained by Rohit Sharma and under his leadership, Mumbai has been successful so far.
The team further wrote, “Our team is always grateful to Rohit Sharma. His tenure from 2013 till now has been very excellent. Rohit Sharma is one of the best captains in IPL history.”

In the first season of IPL i.e. 2008 itself, Rohit Sharma made his debut with the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers franchise.
