Hambantota, Aug 25: In the ongoing 3-match series between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Pakistan has taken a 2-0 lead.
In the second and very exciting match played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota on 24 August, Pakistan won by 1 wicket.
As soon as the game started, Afghanistan’s captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved to be completely correct.
Afghanistan’s opening pair of Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave a very strong start, both of them did not let their wicket fall for 39.5 overs and made a huge partnership of 227 runs, in this partnership Ibrahim Zadran scored 80 runs in 101 balls.
However, Afghanistan kept losing wickets after this and made a huge score of 300 runs by the end of the 1st innings, Rahmanullah Gurbaz played an inning of 151 runs for Afghanistan, along with MD Nabi 29 balls 29 Played an inning of runs. Naseem Shah took a maximum of 3 wickets from the Pakistan side.
In reply, Pakistan team came to bat, and Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq came to open for Pakistan, Pakistan’s start was not that good as compared to Afghanistan’s. Fakhar Zaman lost to Fazalhaq Farooqi on the first ball of the 9th over. But after this, Imam-ul-Haq along with Captain Babar Azam took the innings forward.
They were coming out in the game, then Afghanistan returned to the game with the help of their bowling and tremendous fielding, and on seeing Pakistan’s 8 wickets fell in 48 overs and still needed a lot of runs to win, the last over Pakistan needed 11 runs in the last over and 2 wickets were in hand, but at the same time Fazalhaq Farooqi MANKAD Shadab Khan and took the wicket, but due to the beautiful batting of Naseem Shah, Pakistan won the match with 1 ball remaining.

Imam-ul-Haq contributed 91 (105), Babar Azam 53 (66), and Shadab Khan 48 (35) goals from Pakistan.
Same for Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqi took 3 wickets and M.D. took 2 wickets.
Shadab Khan was the man of the match for Pakistan, Pakistan went ahead in the series by 2-0, now The last match of this series will be played in Colombo on 26th August.
