Northampton, Aug 10: I am not thinking what the Indian selectors must be thinking, said India opener Prithvi Shaw after playing a mammoth inning of 244 runs. Prithvi Shaw broke several List A records after scoring 244 for Northamptonshire in an ODI against Somerset at the County Ground.
Prithvi Shaw played a mammoth inning of 244 runs in 153 balls against Somerset which included 28 fours and 11 sixes.
Prithvi Shaw’s massive innings helped Northamptonshire post a mammoth score of 415 for 8 and then went on to win by 87 runs.
Prithvi Shaw’s innings is also the sixth-highest individual score in any List A match.
Prithvi Shaw was unable to make much of an impact in the last two innings for Northamptonshire, scoring only 34 and 26.
On Wednesday, he brought up his century against Somerset in 81 balls and then, after changing gears, brought up his second century in just 129 balls.
After the game, Shaw said, definitely playing here will give me experience. But seriously I’m not thinking anything about what the Indian selectors are thinking, I just want to have a good time here and play well for my team.
