Mumbai, November 21: Suryakumar Yadav has been chosen as the captain for the 5-match T20 series against Australia. The selectors have decided to rest most of the top players playing the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. Therefore, Suryakumar Yadav has been given the responsibility of leading the Indian team in the five-match T20 International series against Australia starting on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
The World Cup final was played between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in which Australia defeated India by 6 wickets and captured the title. After this defeat, a meeting of the National Selection Committee was held at Narendra Modi Stadium. In this meeting, while deciding on the selection of players for the five-match T20 International series starting against Australia, it was decided to rest all the top players except Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Prasidh Krishna. When all-rounder Hardik Pandya was injured, Prasidh Krishna was included in the team in his place.
