New Delhi, October 11: Delhi Police has busted an online betting racket and arrested two bookies related to it.
An official has informed that two bookies have been arrested by Delhi Police for organizing online betting during the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa being played in the World Cup Cricket.
The accused arrested on online betting charges have been identified as Sarabjit (26) and Anubhav (25), residents of the Rohini area of Delhi.
Disclosing online betting, police said that during the One Day International Cricket World Cup match being held between Sri Lanka and South Africa, some people were betting online in Sector-16, Rohini, Delhi.
Giving information about this matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Gurikbal Singh Sidhu further said, “When the police received information about online betting, a police team was formed and the police team raided the place where the information was received.”. During this raid, Sarabjit and Anubhav were found betting on the ongoing World Cup match between Sri Lanka and South Africa. ,
Further in this matter, DCP said, “Our police team has caught both the bookies involved in online betting. Six mobile phones and a laptop have also been seized from the spot. “Both the bookies were booked under relevant sections.”
