Ahmedabad, December 8: In a thrilling encounter in the final game of the inaugural phase of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10, Patna Pirates ended Gujarat Giants’ winning streak with a thumping 33-30 win on Thursday.
The clash started with Sachin and Rohit Gulia making impressive raids for Patna Pirates and Gujarat Giants respectively. The former champions took a 3-point lead in the first three minutes. During the opening exchanges, Patna Pirates showed dominance, with every player contributing against the home team. However, as the first half progressed, Gujarat Giants made a comeback.
Both teams displayed compact and well-planned strategies and with less than 8 minutes left in half time, the score was tied at 9-9. Saurav Gulia and Rakesh took charge for Gujarat Giants, while Sudhakar M took charge for Patna Pirates.

Patna Pirates took the momentum in the second half, as Sachin played a crucial all-out on Gujarat Giants and took a 7-point lead. The home team struggled to hold its own, with Sachin, Neeraj and Ankit remaining dominant. By the middle of the second half, Patna Pirates were ahead by 11 points.
Patna Pirates extended their lead to 14 points with another all-out, but Gujarat Giants fought back under the leadership of Rakesh and Sombir. Led by Fazal Atrachali, the home team all-out Patna Pirates with just 9 minutes remaining. Rakesh got his Super 10 with two minutes remaining, reducing his lead to two points. However, the late surge was not enough and Patna Pirates emerged victorious and took full points as they walked off the mat.
