New York, Sep 8: In a remarkable feat, India’s Rohan Bopanna has etched his name in the annals of tennis history by becoming the oldest male player to reach a Grand Slam final. Bopanna achieved this feat by reaching the men’s doubles final of the US Open along with Australia’s Matthew Ebden.

Their spirited performance at the Louis Armstrong Stadium helped sixth seeds Bopanna and Ebden secure a hard-fought victory over the French pair of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut with a score of 7-6 (3). 6-2. The thrilling semi-final duel lasted 1 hour and 34 minutes. Rohan Bopanna, now 43 years and 6 months old, is defying the effects of time and setting a new world record. The feat surpasses the previous record held by Canada’s Daniel Nestor, who reached a Grand Slam final at the age of 43 years and 4 months.

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden’s journey is not over yet; They are set to face the winner of the other semi-final encounter, with the third-seeded pair of Andy Ram and Joe Salisbury taking on the second-seeded pair of Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek in an eagerly awaited final.
