Aug 31 – Google quietly announced that it would no longer provide the Pixel Pass subscription, which allows consumers to bundle their smartphone and Google-powered services into a single monthly fee. Users can update every two years, receive a new Pixel after two years, and continue to save money on their new smartphone on a monthly basis. There is no agreement; if users wish to leave, they must pay off the remaining balance of their smartphone price at the usual rate.
According to a Google Support document page, the brand focuses on providing the best value for the company’s physical product while also allowing users to purchase their preferred services. It was also announced that Google will no longer provide new Pixel Pass customers subscriptions.
Existing Pixel Pass customers can continue to use their Pixel Pass subscription for the remaining two years from the date their Pixel Pass model was shipped. Unfortunately, due to the company’s new policy, they will not be able to upgrade to a new device with Pixel Pass at the end of the two-year period.
With the debut of the Pixel 6 series, Google announced an all-in-one subscription that brings together the user’s choice of Pixel devices, Preferred Care protection, Google One cloud storage, YouTube Premium, and more. Furthermore, the Pixel Pass plans began at $45, which were hard bargains, delivering a tiny discount on the bundle. Google stated that Pixel Pass was exclusively accessible in the United States.
Furthermore, Google will continue to renew a number of services, including Pixel Pass, when it expires at a lower fee, which will be made public next month. In addition, as a farewell gift, the company is giving a few active Pixel Pass subscribers a $100 Google Store credit. Google informed existing members in an email that the business thanks them for their support and is adding $100 in Google Store credit to their accounts.
