Aug 18 – Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, revealed on Thursday that WhatsApp users may now send photographs in HD resolution.
Standard Quality will remain the default choice for images sent in to WhatsApp to guarantee that sharing photos stays fast and dependable.
“Sharing photos on WhatsApp just got an upgrade — now you can send in HD,” Zuckerberg posted.
If you get a photo while using low bandwidth internet, you can select whether to preserve the regular version or upgrade it to HD on a per-shot basis.
According to the corporation, HD Photos will be available globally in the following weeks, followed by HD Videos.
“For special moments that you want friends and family to enjoy in every little detail, you now have the option to share photos in higher resolution, all while protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption,” WhatsApp added.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is also rumoured to be rolling out a new forwarding message feature for channels on Android and iOS.
According to WABetaInfo, the corporation issued a new message within the official channel stating that customers can now share channel messages with their friends and family.
Users can see if the new feature is available to them by tapping a message and selecting the ‘advance’ option.
The messaging platform added channels to seven more nations last month: Egypt, Chile, Malaysia, Morocco, Ukraine, Kenya, and Peru.
On Android beta, WhatsApp is also introducing the ability to create and share AI stickers.
