Sep 18 – Apple CEO Tim Cook has stated that he dislikes “some things about” Elon Musk’s X (previously Twitter).
In an interview with CBS, Cook termed the platform’s apparent anti-Semitism problem “abhorrent,” but added, “Twitter is an important property; I like the concept that it’s there for discourse.”
However, when questioned whether Apple should advertise on X, he stated that the business “constantly” considers this.
Furthermore, the Apple CEO was questioned on the Vision Pro’s delivery date, as it has been reported that the headset is experiencing manufacturing difficulties. Cook confirmed that the Vision Pro is still on schedule, restating his words from last week’s iPhone 15 “Wonderlust” event.
When asked if the obstacles he experienced while developing the iPhone were the same for the Vision Pro, Cook responded it was “more complex.”
“No, it’s more complex, and so it requires innovation in not only the development, but also in the manufacturing,” Cook was quoted as saying.
Furthermore, the interview highlighted Apple’s environmental initiatives, such as the carbon footprint of the new Apple Watch Series 9.
Cook stated that he wants Apple to show that getting carbon neutral can be profitable so that other businesses can “rip it off.” According to the firm, Apple’s overall carbon impact is dropping.
As part of its ambitious 2030 climate objective, Apple discontinued the use of leather across all of its product lines.
The company will replace leather with FineWoven, an attractive and long-lasting weave manufactured from 68% post-consumer recycled fibre.
In addition to its 2030 target, Apple is aiming for a 90% reduction in emissions by 2050, which would necessitate lobbying for collective action from governments, businesses, and individuals to accelerate global progress in the fight against climate change.
