Mangaluru: Major Commercial Center of Karnataka

Managaluru popularly known as Mangalore is a major commercial center of the Indian state of Karnataka and is located between the Arabian Sea and the western Ghats mountain range. It is the only city of Karnataka state that has all four modes of transport – railways, roadways, airways, and seaways. The city Mangalore was named after the deity Mangaladevi the presiding deity of the Mangaladevi Temple and is situated at the junction of the Netravati and Gurupura rivers. Tulu and Kannada are the major regional language spoken. Along with its neighboring district, Udupi they are considered as an educational corridor.

How to reach Mangaluru:

By Plane: There are daily flights to and from Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa, Kochi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Surat, Delhi, and Calicut.

By Train: Mangalore Central and Mangalore Junction are the two railway stations located within the city. Surathkal is located 18 km away from the city. Trains from more than 15 different cities in India ply to Mangalore.

By Bus: There are two bus stops in Mangalore, one is Government and other private. Daily bus service is available from Mangalore to the towns and cities in Karnataka, Maharastra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

By Ship: New Mangalore Port at Panambur is a deep-water, all-weather port on the west coast of India. Some of the cruises that come are Costa Victoria, Seabourn Encore, Oceania Insignia, etc.

With a population of about 5,00,000  the place is an important industrial, commercial, educational, and healthcare hub of the state of Karnataka.
