Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that after the release of the Israeli hostages, when the military operation in Gaza will be allowed again, only after that we agree to the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
According to the Xinhua news agency, preparations are being made in Cairo to advance the mediation talks. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday laid out his five conditions for ending the nine-month conflict. He stressed that if the ceasefire agreement is to be implemented, Israel must be allowed to continue its operations in Gaza until the objectives of the conflict are met.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu further said that the cease-fire agreement should also include that Hamas in Gaza be prevented from smuggling weapons from Egypt. He also stressed that the return of armed Hamas terrorists to Gaza should also be stopped.
More than 100 people are still being held hostage in Gaza and some of those hostages are believed to have been killed. Netanyahu spoke of securing the release of as many hostages as possible.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant confirmed on Sunday that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon will continue even if a ceasefire agreement is reached in Gaza.
Yoav Gallant said the conflict with Gaza and Hezbollah on the northern border are “two separate areas”. He clarified that if a cease-fire agreement is reached in Gaza, that agreement will not be considered an agreement with Hezbollah.
