However, he said that Russia is ready to work with whichever leader succeeds in winning the confidence of the American people in the elections.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that to evaluate how the current administration is working in America, one should look at its political situation.
In reference to Russia’s war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin said, “I believe that the position of the current administration is wrong and harmful.”
According to Putin, the war could have ended a year and a half ago if the agreements reached during a meeting in Istanbul in March 2022 had been maintained. Putin did not clarify anything about which agreements were being talked about.
Expressing regret, Russian President Putin said that he deeply regrets not starting active action in Ukraine before February 2022. He claimed that Western leaders had lied to Russia about not expanding NATO to the east.
Putin said that we were, and still are, concerned about the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO. Ukraine’s joining NATO poses a threat to our security.
Accusing Putin, he said the Minsk agreements, a ceasefire protocol signed by Ukraine and Russia in 2015, were never meant to be maintained but were instead used to buy time to load Ukraine with additional weapons.
The Russian leader expressed disappointment over the recent interview with Tucker Carlson, saying that I thought he would be aggressive and the questions he would ask me during the interview would be difficult. I was completely ready for this and I also wanted it. So that I can get an opportunity to give a tough answer.
He further said that it did not happen as I wanted. So to tell you the truth, I could not fully enjoy that interview.
