On Tuesday, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet officially unveiled the Techo Santepheap National Hospital, situated in the northwestern periphery of the capital, Phnom Penh. This significant healthcare facility, boasting nearly 10,000 beds and state-of-the-art medical equipment, represents Cambodia’s largest public hospital to date. Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that the hospital’s purpose extends beyond saving lives; it will also serve as a hub for nurturing healthcare professionals.
Health Minister Chheang Ra highlighted the hospital’s comprehensive structure, which includes units for outpatient services, emergency care, surgery, medical technology, hospitalization, and logistics. Notably, the hospital features a helipad on its roof, enhancing its accessibility and capabilities.
Positioned along Win-Win Boulevard in the Prek Pnov district, the Techo Santepheap National Hospital is strategically located to provide a wide array of healthcare services, accommodating people from across Cambodia. In particular, it aims to serve the healthcare needs of residents from the 14 districts within Phnom Penh, as well as patients from the neighboring Kandal and Kampong Speu provinces, which border the capital.
This remarkable healthcare facility’s construction began with a ground-breaking ceremony held in February 2022.
