The French government has decided to raise its national security alert system vizipirate to the highest level to deal with the potential threat facing the country after Friday’s deadly terrorist attack in the Russian capital Moscow. French Prime Minister Gabriel Atal said on social media platform X that French President Emmanuel Macron called a defense and security meeting at the Elysee Palace on Sunday night in the wake of the terrorist attack in Moscow.
Prime Minister Gabriel Atal further said that, in view of the alleged attack by the extremist organization “Islamic State” and the looming threat of terrorist attacks on the country, we have decided that we should raise the anti-terrorism security alert level to the highest level. So that such terrorist attacks can be dealt with in the future.
It is worth noting that, last Friday, a gunman dressed in army uniform opened fire indiscriminately at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, a major Christian event venue. At least 137 people were killed in this terrorist attack. In a televised national address on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared March 24 a day of national mourning. National mourning was observed in Russia on Sunday, March 24.
French media reported that the Summer Olympics in Paris are about to start in four months and the threat of terrorist attacks in France continues to increase.
