New Delhi, November 11: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin consider India-US defense relations as a key pillar for world peace and stability.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is on a visit to India. During the visit, he said that India-US defense cooperation is important in strengthening international peace and security. Further, citing the example of the core principles of the United Nations (UN) Charter – territorial integrity and independence, sovereignty etc., he said that the rules India-US defense relationship is an important pillar to develop to further promote the arrangement.

He further said that we are sharing our latest technology among ourselves, we are integrating our industrial bases. This will strengthen our internal operating procedures.
Drawing attention to some decisions taken in the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington in June, Blinken said that concrete steps are being taken on whatever viewpoints were put forward in that meeting. So that those visions can be fulfilled.
He further said that we are strengthening our partnership with Japan and Australia through the Quad to promote an open, free, secure, resilient and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
Expressing his views on increasing awareness in the maritime sector, Blinken said that increasing awareness in the maritime sector is an important plan, which we are adopting. This also includes sharing commercial satellite data with countries in the region. So that their capabilities can be promoted.
With this, various types of problems like piracy, illegal fishing, drug smuggling etc. can be dealt with. He said that we are also trying to coordinate disaster response and humanitarian relief efforts in the Indo-Pacific. We are harnessing the power of innovation to make our communities safer than ever before. At the same time, we are expanding inclusive economic opportunities to make our economies more resilient.
The cooperation that we have is in the field of semiconductors and advanced biotechnology. This is clearly reflected in our joint research and exploration projects. We have made unprecedented investments in deploying clean energy at scale. So that our country as well as the entire region can benefit from it.
The top diplomat also discussed relations between the two countries. Along with this, the top diplomat discussed reducing the visa waiting time. He also mentioned the important steps being taken to make travel convenient between India and America.
