Israel-Hamas peace talks in Qatar’s capital Doha have stalled over Israel’s refusal to accept Hamas’ demands.
According to Israel’s Ministry of Defense sources, the Israeli delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnia from other mediators including Qatar and Egypt said that they will not release Palestinian prisoners who have been charged with murder and other serious charges.
350 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails for serious crimes, including murder, have demanded their release by Hamas.
According to the information available, the Israeli side wants the release of its hostages in two stages, while Hamas wants to release the Israeli hostages in three stages.
However, sources close to the Israeli negotiator say that as many men and women soldiers are imprisoned in Hamas custody, Israeli negotiators want all of them to be released in the second phase.
Due to Israel’s strictness, a crisis has arisen on the first day of Israel-Hamas peace talks in Qatar’s capital, Doha.
