Jerusalem, November 8: Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced that Israeli ground forces have advanced deep into Gaza City. He stressed that the conflict will continue until Gaza’s ruler Hamas is no longer a threat.
Gallant said that following the resolution of the conflict, Israel plans to maintain security control over Gaza. The purpose of this control is to address security risks and prevent any potential harm to the country.
The conflict began when, on October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, launching thousands of rockets and infiltrating Israeli territory. Israel responded with measures including airstrikes, ground operations and a blockade of the Gaza Strip, Xinhua news agency reported.
The damage caused by the Israel–Hamas conflict has been devastating, resulting in the loss of many lives. According to reports, this led to the deaths of 10,328 Palestinians in Gaza and the loss of more than 1,400 lives on the Israeli side, mainly due to Hamas military attacks on October 7.
