London, Nov 14: On his 75th birthday, UK’s King Charles III is launching the Coronation Food Project, an initiative addressing the disparity between food waste and food needs nationwide.
Alongside the project launch, the monarch will host a reception for 400 NHS nurses and midwives at Buckingham Palace, with ceremonial gun salutes at the Tower of London.
The event brought people together to celebrate their 75th birthdays and recognise their contributions to the community.

King Charles emphasized the urgency of tackling food waste and insecurity, stating, “Food need is as real and urgent a problem as food waste.” The project aims to establish distribution hubs connecting surplus food with the 14 million people facing food insecurity in the UK.
Born on November 14, 1948, during post-war food rationing, King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday with a special tea party at Highgrove Garden, marking other 75th anniversaries, including Windrush 75 and the NHS’s 75th anniversary. King Charles is now the sixth longest-lived British monarch at 75 years old.
