A large number of people have died in Rafah Israeli air strikes. The Hamas-run health ministry said Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on Rafah and surrounding areas in southern Gaza, killing more than 100 Palestinians and injuring more than 160 others.
The Health Ministry, quoted by Xinhua news agency, said that 164 Palestinians were killed and 200 others were injured in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours across the region. Due to which 28,340 people have died so far in the ongoing conflict, while the number of injured has reached 67,984.
Palestinian witnesses told the news agency that Israeli forces launched about 40 airstrikes on the Rafah area early on Monday.
The city’s al-Kuwaiti hospital is filled with displaced people. Hospital director Suhaib al-Hams said, “Our hospital receives victims of air strikes, with dismemberment and severe burns.”
Describing the shortage of medicines in the Kuwaiti hospital, Al-Hams said that the Kuwaiti hospital, one of the three hospitals in Rafah, is suffering from a severe shortage of medicines and it is not possible to treat so many injured with the medicines available in the hospital.
Palestinian security sources told the news agency in Rafah that Israeli special forces secretly entered a building in the Shaboura neighborhood in the center of the city, clashed with Hamas members and freed two hostages.
The Israeli military said in an earlier statement that on Monday it carried out a series of strikes in southern Gaza and rescued two hostages from Rafah.
