There are not many days left for the US Presidential Election 2024. In the presidential debate to be held on September 10 before the election, Republican candidate Donald Trump has made an agreement with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to keep the mic off.
Like the debate organized by TV channel CNN, further discussion in this debate will be held under the same rules.
However, Kamala Harris has not yet confirmed this debate to be hosted by ABC News.
There was no consensus between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris regarding the debate. Accusing the network of being biased, Trump threatened not to debate. At the same time, the demand to keep the microphone open in the debate was made by Vice President Kamala Harris’s team.
In a post on social media on Tuesday, Trump said that the rules that were in the debate with President Joe Biden in June on CNN will also be the same rules for the presidential debate to be held next month.
Let us tell you that due to the weak performance of President Joe Biden in this debate, he was out of the presidential candidacy, after which Kamala Harris’s name was announced as the new Democratic presidential candidate.
In a social media post, former President Donald Trump said that this debate will be held standing and no one will be allowed to keep any notes.
Trump further says that we have already been assured by ABC News channel that this debate will be ‘fair and equitable’. Also, no candidate will be allowed to ask questions in advance.
Harris’ team had earlier said that broadcasters should keep the candidates’ microphones on throughout the program, not like the previous presidential debate when their opponent is speaking. “Hot mics” can help or harm political candidates, who sometimes catch comments that are not meant for the public.
While Trump’s team said that it had already agreed to keep the microphones off, Trump later told reporters that he prefers to keep his microphone on.
Trump’s team planned a separate debate on September 4 on Fox News Network, but it was rejected by Harris’s team.
