Prime Minister Narendra Modi held high-level bilateral talks with the President of Indonesia, reaffirming the strong strategic partnership between the two nations. During the visit, PM Modi was conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, recognizing his contribution to strengthening India-Indonesia relations and promoting regional cooperation.
The leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including trade, defence, maritime security, digital technology, healthcare, education, renewable energy, and cultural exchanges. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region while emphasizing peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged during the visit to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. The agreements are expected to boost bilateral trade, encourage investment, strengthen defence ties, and expand partnerships in technology, infrastructure, and capacity building.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, PM Modi described it as a tribute to the enduring friendship between the people of India and Indonesia. He said the recognition reflects the shared values, mutual trust, and growing partnership between the two democracies.
The Indonesian President highlighted India’s growing role in the global economy and praised the strong bilateral relationship that has expanded significantly in recent years. He expressed confidence that the new agreements would open fresh opportunities for cooperation and bring tangible benefits to both countries.
