New Delhi, Sep 10: Ahead of the G20 summit held on Saturday, a discreet church service was held in honor of visiting United States President Joe Biden. Father Nicholas Dias, Secretary of the Liturgy Commission within the Archdiocese of Delhi, had the privilege of conducting this private service for President Biden, who is a devout Roman Catholic. The spiritual ceremony took place during the President’s visit to the capital in the context of the G20 Summit.

The idea of this private gathering arose from a request made by the US Embassy in Delhi. President Biden expressed his desire to participate in a personal and contemplative religious service in the nation’s capital.
In a touching gesture, President Biden presented Father Dias with a gift bearing the inscription “261st.” This encrypted message holds special significance for the occasion, although the exact meaning is unknown. Father Dias expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to share this spiritual moment with the American President and considered it a profound honor. President Biden’s visit to Delhi began on Friday and he continued his diplomatic journey by leaving for Vietnam on Sunday.
