Madrid, Aug 21: In Spain More than 12,000 people have been evacuated due to a fierce forest fire on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
It is being told by the police that about 11 towns have been affected by the fire but the tourist areas here have been saved by the government.
Deteriorating weather conditions will “complicate firefighting operations”, the government said, with Tenerife firefighters tweeting on 9th October that the improved conditions had seen a return to “some normality” in firefighting operations.
According to officials, the fire is currently spread over an area of about 8,400 hectares.
