The US has expressed hope for “continued” close ties with India after the results of the Lok Sabha elections in India. America has expressed this hope before the formation of the new government in India.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party in the country with 240 seats. But BJP alone has not won the majority. The BJP needed 272 seats to achieve the majority figure, while the BJP got 32 seats less than that.
During his regular press conference, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in response to a question that, I hope that the close relationship between the US and India will continue in the future. I am confident that the mutual cooperation between the people of both countries and at the government level will be very good. This collaboration will continue smoothly.
Answering another question, Matthew Miller said that the US appreciates the Indian government and its people for completing the electoral process on such a large scale. We are looking forward to know the final result.
