Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Dennis Francis, President of the 78th United Nations General Assembly, in Beijing. Wang Yi said that China strongly promotes multilateralism. China abides by and implements international law and safeguards the UN Charter.
China has always supported the core role of the United Nations in the global governance system. This year the “Future Summit” will be hosted by the United Nations. China always supports the UN General Assembly, so that it can cooperate with the UN General Assembly in playing a more important and more active role in accordance with the UN Charter.
At the summit, China is keen to put forward practical proposals to address current urgent and important global issues. On this, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis, responded by saying that the United Nations always follows the policy of One China and thanks the Chinese government for its long-standing support to multilateralism and the UN.
The United Nations commends China for the important initiatives it has taken. The United Nations is willing to face challenges and strengthen cooperation with China.
