Bengaluru, Dec 28: Bengaluru-based tech giant Infosys has accused its key rival Cognizant of using unethical tactics to lead to a standoff over senior management personnel. Infosys had reportedly sent an official letter to Cognizant a few weeks ago, expressing objection over its recruitment practices.
Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar, a former Infosys executive, is said to have attracted more than 20 executive vice presidents and four senior vice presidents from Infosys and Wipro. Additional reports suggest that several other top Infosys employees are set to join Cognizant in key roles such as delivery head and consulting head.
However, the planned transition of these employees to Cognizant may be delayed due to Infosys’ objections over alleged poaching.
The increasing layoff of senior management has become a significant concern for the IT sector companies, which are already facing challenges. Many top executives at both Infosys and Wipro have left in recent times and some have joined rival companies. The companies involved have not yet responded officially to these developments.
