Taking to micro-blogging site X, iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Monday informed that his deepfake video promoting a gaming application on the social media platform is going viral.
Sachin Tendulkar wrote in a post on micro-blogging site X, “The video of him going viral on social media platforms is fake. Misuse of technology in this way is disturbing. I request all of you to report such videos, advertisements and apps immediately and in large numbers.”
A video viral on social media platforms shows Sachin Tendulkar promoting an app called ‘Skyward Aviator Quest’. It has been claimed that Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar is earning good money by playing on this application.
In the deepfake video of Tendulkar which is going viral on the social media platform, it is being shown that Tendulkar is sitting comfortably and promoting the app, but when this video is being watched closely, it is revealed that This video is fake.
This is not the first time that a celebrity has become a victim of a deepfake video. Before this, deepfake videos of many Bollywood stars and politicians have also gone viral, which include Alia Bhatt, Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra etc.
