There is an alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections. Its official announcement has also been made by the leaders of Congress and AAP. Aam Aadmi Party will contest elections on four Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. Whereas three seats have been given to Congress. There was no agreement between the two on Punjab, but in Haryana, one Lok Sabha seat has been given to Aam Aadmi Party, while Congress is contesting on 9 seats.
Regarding Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, Congress General Secretary and MP Mukul Wasnik said that there are seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, out of which Aam Aadmi Party will contest on four seats of New Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi. Congress will contest elections on three seats Chandni Chowk, North East and North West.
Along with this, seat sharing was also announced between Congress and AAP in Haryana, Gujarat, Goa and Chandigarh. There was no consensus between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party regarding Punjab and Chandigarh. Both the parties will contest elections separately. In Haryana, AAP will contest on one seat and Congress on nine seats.
Aam Aadmi Party candidate will contest from Kurukshetra seat. There are 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, in which Congress is contesting on 24 seats and Aam Aadmi Party has been given two seats. AAP will contest from Bharuch and Bhavnagar seats. In Goa, only Congress candidates will contest elections on both the seats.
Out of 10 seats in Haryana, Aam Aadmi Party has been given one seat, while Congress is contesting on 9 seats. Delhi Minister Atishi said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been an important pillar in the India alliance since the beginning. We have been working for the success of ‘India Alliance’. It took time to negotiate with Congress and share seats. But, right from the beginning, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been making it clear that we are part of the India alliance and we will fight the elections together.
