Lucknow, October 4: The final decision regarding the Ram Lalla idol for the Ram temple in Ayodhya will depend on the trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust, which is scheduled to hold an important meeting this month.
During the upcoming meeting to be held on October 7 and 8, the Trust will deliberate and select one of the three idols to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
Trust General Secretary Champat Rai has informed all 15 members about this meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. The primary agenda of this meeting is to select the 51-inch statue from the three currently in the final stages of construction in Ayodhya.
Additionally, the Board of Trustees will decide on the specific location within the temple where the remaining two idols of Ram Lalla will be located.
Three eminent sculptors have been entrusted with the responsibility for this important work. Mysore-based renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj is creating a statue from another rock obtained from Karnataka. Arun Yogiraj had earlier designed the 12-foot statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath, which was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. He is the son of renowned sculptor Yogiraj Shilpi and comes from a family with a tradition of Mysuru palace artists. Kamath had presented pencil drawings of Ram Lalla to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust. Born in Karkala, a modest town in Karnataka, Kamath grew up in Mumbai. His Ramayana series, consisting of 28 paintings, has won global acclaim, and he is known for his artwork focusing on mythological and historical subjects.
