Regarding this road project, Nitin Gadkari said that it will not only provide better connectivity to Shimla, Dharamshala, Mandi and Kangra, it will also improve connectivity to Darlaghat and AIIMS.
He further said that construction of 4-lane Kotdwar Bypass on National Highway-119 in Bijnor districts of Uttar Pradesh and Pauri districts of Uttarakhand has also been approved at a cost of Rs 691.70 crore. The length of 4-lane Kotdwar bypass will be 6 km.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that this route will act as a bypass for Kotdwar city. Its construction will reduce congestion in the city and will also help in increasing connectivity with Uttar Pradesh.
He said that its construction will boost the development of tourism in the state and will also improve the connectivity of pilgrimage places. Improving connectivity to the pilgrimage sites Kedarnath and Badrinath will be possible through highway projects.
