Actor-turned-politician and BJP leader Khushbu Sundar has strongly condemned DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin over his controversial remarks involving actor Trisha Krishnan, calling the comments “crass,” “misogynistic,” and unbecoming of a public leader. Her response has intensified the political and public debate surrounding the incident, with several prominent personalities demanding greater respect for women in political discourse.
Taking to social media, Khushbu questioned Udhayanidhi’s conduct and challenged him to show courage by addressing political issues without dragging women into the conversation. “If you’re man enough, fight your political battles with your opponents. Don’t use a woman’s name to score political points,” she wrote, adding that women should never be reduced to objects of ridicule or used as tools for applause at public rallies.
Khushbu also criticized the audience present during the rally, expressing disappointment that many laughed and cheered instead of objecting to the remarks. She said it was disturbing to see such comments being normalized in public life and stressed that leaders have a responsibility to uphold dignity and respect in their speeches.
