Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Coordinator Arvind Kejriwal has attacked the Center and the BJP after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) notification was issued by the central government. He accused the BJP of crushing the interests of Indians and said that the BJP was giving priority to the interests of foreigners over Indian citizens.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal opposed the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in a press conference and questioned its justification. He said that after ruling the country for ten years, the central government has brought the CAA just before the elections. BJP is implementing CAA in the country to increase its vote bank.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has questioned the justification of giving citizenship to minorities under the CAA while expressing concern over the possible influx of minorities into India after the implementation of the CAA.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) may increase the number of minorities in India at a rapid pace.
He said that the poor and middle class people are suffering from the cost of inflation, and there is a widespread problem of unemployment in India. Unemployed youth are stumbling for employment, people are struggling with housing problems and in such a time central government has brought CAA instead of solving the real issues. Which can be a big challenge for us. Because of the CAA, there will be a large number of minorities in the country. This will bring about two crore people to our country and the money of the Indian government will be spent on the people of Pakistan. BJP is doing all this only for its vote bank.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern over the apparent disparity in the attitude of the government towards its own citizens and foreign nationals, saying, on the one hand, the BJP is not able to generate employment opportunities for the Indian youth, but on the other hand, the CAA is in force. Kar wants to give jobs to the youth of Pakistan.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of trying to settle people from Pakistan in India at the expense of the rights and opportunities of the original citizens.
Kejriwal also expressed apprehension on the allocation of government funds, saying that the resources which are supposed to be used for the development of Indian families and the nation, the BJP is using those resources to accommodate the citizens of Pakistan.
