The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards brought some of the biggest names in music to Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27, with Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Lisa and several other stars making appearances on the blue carpet ahead of the ceremony.
Taylor Swift drew significant attention in a custom Tamara Ralph gown featuring a sleek black bodice and a shimmering silver skirt. She paired the look with statement jewellery, adding a dramatic touch to her return to the VMAs.
Charli XCX also made an impression in a Saint Laurent ensemble designed by Anthony Vaccarello. Her look featured a black velvet top with dramatic sleeves and a floor-length skirt, complemented by FOPE jewellery.
Lisa, who was among the evening’s performers, arrived in a striking ensemble by Quine Li and The Attico. Other notable arrivals included Teyana Taylor, Tyla, Raye, Troye Sivan, Shaboozey, Paris Hilton and Sabrina Carpenter.
The ceremony, held at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, was hosted by Snoop Dogg. Madonna was among the night’s major attractions, while performances were scheduled from artists including Lisa, Raye, Sombr, Teddy Swims, Shaboozey and Gunna.
Swift was also set to receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, recognising artists whose work behind the camera has contributed to music-video storytelling.
With its mix of established superstars, emerging artists and bold fashion statements, the 2026 VMAs once again turned the pre-show carpet into a major entertainment spectacle, with celebrity arrivals generating attention even before the awards ceremony began.
