Bangalore, 2 July 2025 – Mountaineer and endurance athlete Saurabh Bhasin successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 14, 2025. This ascent marks the sixth of the seven highest peaks on each continent that Bhasin has climbed. His final objective, Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, is anticipated to be a joyous victory lap, allowing him to celebrate the culmination of his journey with friends and family.
Guided by the experienced Pemba Ongchu Sherpa, Bhasin’s journey to the top of the world’s highest mountain was accomplished via the South Col route in Nepal. This classic route is a strenuous undertaking that involves navigating the hazardous Khumbu Icefall, ascending the Western Cwm and the Lhotse Face to the South Col, before the final summit push.

His foundation in endurance sports has been a significant asset in his mountaineering pursuits. Bhasin has completed five Ironman triathlons, a testament to his mental and physical fortitude. In the world of ultrarunning, he is known for his numerous consistent performances, including a personal best at the Canal Corridor 100-mile race, which he finished in 23 hours and 34 minutes and the completion of the Tahoe 200 endurance race. It is this deep well of endurance, built over years of dedicated training and progressively challenging events, that he draws upon for the rigors of high-altitude mountaineering.
Bhasin’s quest for the Seven Summits has already included successful ascents of Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, and Vinson Massif. His recent success on Everest is a significant milestone and an inspiration to aspiring adventurers.
