Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was suddenly attacked by a man in the middle of Copenhagen. According to a report by news agency Ritzau, the accused man pushed Frederiksen from behind, causing her to stumble. PM Mette Frederiksen left at the time, but the attacker has since been arrested and questioned by Copenhagen police.

Posting in this case on social media platform X, the police said that a person has been arrested and is being interrogated. Police declined to provide further information.
Eyewitnesses of the incident said that a person from the other side pushed Prime Minister Mette Fredriksson hard on the shoulder. The shock was very strong, but she survived the fall.
Søren Kjergaard, who works at the intersection as a barista, said that Prime Minister Frederiksen appeared slightly stressed and was escorted away by security personnel after the attack.
The thing to note is that this attack happened two days before Denmark’s vote in the European Union elections. Earlier on May 15, there was also an attempt to kill the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, in which he was seriously injured. The prime minister was giving a speech outside a cultural hall in Handlova city when he was attacked. The assailant fired five bullets at him, one of which hit him in the stomach. He is currently recovering.
