Jerusalem Oct 9: The death toll from the recent increase in violence between Hamas and Israel has reached a tragic figure, with at least 700 deaths attributed to Hamas’ initial surprise attack on Israel. In retaliation, Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip have reportedly killed at least 413 individuals. The figures were reported by Israel’s state-owned Kan TV News, quoting government officials.
According to the latest update from the Israeli Health Ministry, at least 2,243 people have been injured in Israeli hospitals, 22 of them in critical condition. In southern Israel, full control has not yet been established by Israeli forces, and clashes continue between Hamas militants and Israeli troops in several communities near Gaza. The IDF Home Front Command advised residents of the south to stay at home to ensure their safety.
On the other side of the conflict, more than 2,300 people have been injured due to ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. This includes 213 children and 140 women. The Gaza-based health ministry reported that of the 413 people killed, 78 were children, and 41 were women.
According to Palestinian security sources, the situation remains volatile, with Israeli air strikes targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip, including residential homes, agricultural land, government institutions, and police posts. Social media videos showed plumes of smoke rising from various locations in the Gaza Strip along with large explosions.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari has informed Israeli media outlets that the air force has hit approximately 800 Hamas-related targets in Gaza. Additionally, Israeli forces have reportedly captured dozens of individuals described as “terrorists” during clashes in border areas between Israel and the Strip.
