Prime Minister Narendra Modi called and congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the President of Russia and discussed many issues including the international agenda with Putin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the Russia-Ukraine war with the President of Russia and also discussed the situation around Ukraine between the leaders of the two countries.
PM Modi and Putin have agreed to take positive initiatives towards further strengthening and expanding the strategic partnership between India and Russia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on the path of negotiation in Russia-Ukraine conflict. Along with this, Prime Minister Modi also reiterated India’s position in favor of dialogue and diplomacy in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Congratulating Vladimir Putin on his re-election as President of Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his best wishes for peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Russia. President Putin and Prime Minister Modi reviewed progress on various issues of bilateral cooperation. Also, the leaders of the two countries exchanged their views on all the issues that are related to the regional and global issues of mutual interest of the two countries.
President Putin and Prime Minister Modi also said to be in constant contact with each other. On social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote that he had a conversation with President Putin and congratulated him on being re-elected as the President of the Russian Federation. We agreed to work together to further strengthen, deepen and expand the strategic partnership between India and Russia in the coming years.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished Prime Minister Modi for the successful conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India.
It is worth noting that Vladimir Putin won the presidential election of Russia again by getting about 88 percent of the votes. Kremlin has informed about this. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed Ukraine over the phone amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
