Russian missile strikes outside of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv have completely destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant (TPP). This information has been given by the media quoting an official.
According to the report of the news agency Xinhua, about the Russian missile attack, the chairman of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian power plant Centernergo, Andriy Hota, said that a huge fire broke out in the plant’s turbine room after the missile attack.
He further said that no employee has died in this attack. Efforts to put out the fire are underway.
Trypilska Thermal Power Plant (TPP) is located 45 km south of Kyiv and has a capacity of 1,800 MW. This thermal power plant is the largest power generation center in Kyiv region.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia fired 42 missiles early Thursday. These included 40 combat drones and six Kinjal aeroballistic missiles. 39 drones and 18 missiles were shot down by Ukrainian forces.
