A budget of Rs 544.80 crore has been approved for the development of Delhi’s mandis. Rs 225.96 crore is to be spent for the development of Azadpur Mandi. Apart from Azadpur Mandi, development will be done in Keshopur Mandi, Ghazipur Mandi, APMC Najafgarh Mandi, APMC Narela Mandi etc. from this budget. This has been confirmed by the Delhi Government. It is being said that a cost of Rs 70 crore is required for the renovation of Murga Mandi Ghazipur, while the development of Phool Mandi Ghazipur will be done at a cost of Rs 40 crore 75 lakh. A meeting was held on Tuesday in Delhi Secretariat under the Development Ministry regarding the development of mandis. Officials from Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board (DAMB) and APMC attended the meeting.
The development of mandis in the financial year 2024-25 was discussed in this meeting and a total budget of Rs 544.80 crore was approved by the board for the development of mandis. Regarding the allocation of the budget passed by the Board, Development Minister Gopal Rai said that about Rs 225.96 crore will be spent for the development of APMC Azadpur Mandi, about Rs 20.07 crore for the development of Fruit and Vegetable Market Ghazipur, Rs 21.27 crore for FP&EMC Ghazipur. Rs. 8.63 crore has been allocated for Flower Mandi Ghazipur, Rs. 21.77 crore for APMC Keshopur, Rs. 31.36 crore for APMC Narela, Rs. 5.36 crore for APMC Najafgarh, Rs. 210.40 crore for DAMB.
Regarding the development of Delhi’s mandis, the board says that a budget of Rs 544.80 crore has been approved for the development of Delhi’s mandis. Due to this, a decision is being taken to construct Tikri Khampur wholesale market. Apart from this, renovation work of Ghazipur flower market will be done and fruit-vegetable market and poultry market of Ghazipur will be developed. This year the renovation work of Murga Mandi Ghazipur will also be done at a cost of Rs 70 crore.
Development Minister Gopal Rai said that Phool Mandi Ghazipur will be developed at a cost of Rs 40 crore 75 lakh. The work of creation, development and expansion of better infrastructure of Delhi’s mandis is being done by the Delhi Government.
